PENANG, June 19 (Bernama) -- Young bodybuilders in the state will have a chance to catch a glimpse of the three-time Mr Universe, national bodybuilder Sazali Abd Samad in the sixth Mr Penang event to be held on June 28 at Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel, here.Sazali, who won the Mr Universe title at the world championship in Melaka (2000), Moscow (2004) and Ostrava, Czech Republic (2006), was invited as a guest poser to the event.
The president of the Penang Bodybuilders' Association, Datuk Ong Poh Eng, said the competition is endorsed by the Penang Sports Council and the winner will represent the state to the final of Mr Malaysia championship at Port Dickson from July 25 to 27.
"About 100 participants are expected to enter a total of 10 categories including Juniors, Masters and Open categories," he told reporters at a press conference, here today.
He said Penang also made a bid for the right to host next year's Mr Malaysia after successfully hosting it in 2006.
"Sazali's presence will attract more young bodybuilders to take part in the healthy competition," he said.
